A New Antenna?
I’ve been waiting for more than three years to tell you this and the day has finally arrived. After lots of starts and stops, two engineering firms, environmental and wetland studies, confirmation of ancient burial ground locations, bird flight paths and checking boxes on pages and pages of government forms, 88.3 The Journey is preparing to build a new tower and replace our 27-year-old antenna. The engineering study is complete and we’ll be filing our application with the FCC in a few days.
Our present tower is 183 feet off the ground, which is tall if you had to climb it, but not very tall by radio standards around this flat land we call home. The new tower will be 350 feet, almost twice as tall as the one we are on now. More importantly, we get to replace our old antenna. As you can imagine, things have changed since our antenna was installed 27 seven years ago.
Like most things at The Journey, though, we can’t do it without you. We’re still working on the cost of the tower construction, but we do know we need to purchase the new antenna. The total cost will be around $47,000 to manufacture and install it.
As you are considering your year end gifts, would you consider sending a gift to the Journey to help with improving our signal and sharing the Journey with even more people in North Texas? To make a secure, online donation to the new antenna, click here.
Thank you for your support. For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.

So excited for The Journey. You will be able to reach even more people with a larger, new tower. You’re the BEST radio station around. I love The Journey. Thank you for bringing such a positive radio experience to our neck of the woods. – Teri

I’d like to make a paypal donation to the antenna. Is there a way to do that?

Michelle, because of data security concerns for donor information, we are unable to link our checking account with Paypal. Sorry for the inconvenience.
