I have been married to my beautiful wife Tanya since 1990 and we have two adult children, Marcus and Natalee. I’ve not only worked in radio for 30 years at stations like KCBI, KLTY and KTXG (American Family Radio – Dallas) but Tanya and I are both Pastor’s kids and have been in Pastoral Ministry since before we were married. I’m so excited to be a part of the team at The Journey to help bring encouragement for your Walk of Life!
Danae Marie joined our staff August of 2014. She’s not new to 88.3, Danae worked here as a student from 2007-2009. Danae is from Southern California but she’s lived all across the nation, even Hawaii for a year. She’s worked in radio in Texas and Michigan, in the classical and Christian formats. On the side she’s a personal trainer and a Triathlete. She loves spending time with her husband Jerrod and son Ethan doing just about anything. Her other hobbies include dogs, cooking and teaching acrobatic aerial silks. Her best friend is Jesus and she hopes that His Love shines through the airwaves each weekday morning.
Jerry Woods is a native of Southern California and appreciates the just about year-round sunny weather that Texas offers. He is the proud husband to Crystal, who he met on a radio cruise that general manager, Mike Agee helped organize. He is also the proud daddy to two little girls who were born on Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving. The Woods’ say that they’re a holiday family because Jerry met his wife on Valentine’s Day. He proposed on Christmas and they got married on Memorial Day. It makes important dates easier to remember. Jerry has been in radio since college and in addition to California he has lived in Washington, Idaho, North Carolina and Washington DC.
I live in the town I was born in and love it! I went away for a while to study Christian Ministry at Azusa Pacific University in CA and met my husband, JD, at a beautiful Christian summer camp where we were married three years later. We spent a few years on the east coast and when JD landed a firefighting job, we returned home and now live on a garden-growing, chicken-raising acre right down the street from where I grew up. We have three lovely daughters–Natalia, Makena, and Tessa- who are all in different phases of life. High school, junior high, and elementary. I love being able to experience life with my kids. They bring me so much joy, there are times I feel like a might burst!
I’ve been a fan of Christian radio since 1990. I gave money to support it so I could listen on my clock radio. I love what The Journey represents in this community and believe that God is changing lives through it. That’s why I love to be a part of it and consider it one of the joys of my life to be able to hang out with you in the evenings.
