Is it Just Me?
Is it just me and my friends? Is it just our lives that are in turmoil? Just
my friends losing loved ones? Just my
friends looking for new jobs? Tempers
short in just my office, my home, my church and my school? Never enough money in just my office, my home,
my church and my school? Road
construction on just the roads I want to drive on? Everywhere I look recently, it seems I see the
devil prowling like a lion, seeking for someone to devour. And it seems to be
most everyone I know.
I
say this only to encourage you. I’ll be 54 in a few weeks, with more gray hair in
the mirror every morning. My experience,
though not as vast as some I know, tells me something amazing is just over the
horizon. The devil wants to keep us down,
wants us to give up before the blessing arises tomorrow.
Peter,
the same writer who warned us of the lion, also tells us “humble yourselves,
therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper
time, casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you.
Hang
on. The dawn of blessing is just over
the horizon.
