Crossing My Path
In a few days, my wife and I will celebrate 29 years of marriage. We’ll probably go all out to celebrate with a trip to Costco and Taco Bell on the way home.
I’ll be the first to testify that twenty-nine years married is nothing short of a miracle from God. Five step-dads and abuse as a child doesn’t prepare you well for long-term relationships. Yet she saw in me something worth investing her life in, a man only she believed I could become. I can testify to the power of a godly woman’s prayers.
This and my empty nest has me thinking about the path of my life. Where I would be if I had made different choices. What my life would have been if God hadn’t crossed my path with friends, teachers, mentors, my sons and my beautiful wife. With hindsight, so many of those choices are filled with darkness and despair. I have much to be thankful for today.
Let me encourage you to take a look down your path today. Be sure to thank someone for the difference they have made in your life. And thank God for crossing your path.
