I Met Her Last Friday
I met her last Friday.
I was asked many times before I left Idaho and again since I arrived in Texas why I would walk away from friends, a home, thick roots grown over two decades in one spot, to start over again at my age. Just relax and coast into retirement, Mike, surrounded by the comfort you’ve built. The answer came at our Joshua event at Pinnacle Bank and I don’t even know her name.
“I just finished a two month sentence in Johnson County on a drug conviction. My little radio didn’t work very well, but for some reason, it picked up your station real good.” Then her eyes began to fill.
“I’ve given my heart to Jesus and I just wanted you to know how much your station helped me. The music you played was all I had. I’m trying to get my life together and The Journey is a big part of that. Thank you.” Then she turned, put her arms around her kids and walked away.
She’s the reason.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
