The Excitement of Another First
First times can be exciting. They can also keep you awake late into the night. Being involved in the beginnings of a new ministry is full of both kinds, from getting the music ready to go on air, meeting people at events for the first time, to building the website and getting the phone system to work, something we’re still not sure about actually.
In a few days, 88.3 The Journey will experience another first. April 12 and 13, a Tuesday and Wednesday, we’ll hold our first Spring Sharathon, our on-air fund drive. We’re not sure what to expect. How many people are listening? Do you like what we’re doing? Are you being blessed by our music and programming? Do you care enough to share your hard-earned resources with us to help the ministry of The Journey grow?
Like many firsts, there is only one way to find out. Our goal this first Sharathon is a modest one. We’ll ask three hundred of our listeners to become supporters, pledging at least fifteen dollars a month. We know not everyone can do that and we know others can do more. But reaching our goal gives us a good start into 2011, allowing us to do more in the community, reaching out in new ways to those who want and need to hear about the kingdom of God.
Please take a moment and pray about how you can be involved with The Journey. If you can help as a volunteer and answer phones during the event, would like to bake some goodies to help feed the phone staff or want to pray for us, call the office at 877-533-0883. and if you would like to support The Journey with a gift of money, click here to go to our secure website to give by debit or credit card.
