My love for radio started early — like, “hang-out-in-the-control-room-while-everyone-else-sits-in-the-audience” early.
As a kid, my dad would take me down to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for Ron Hutchcraft’s Saturday Night Alive. While the other kids were content watching the show, I was determined to see what was happening behind the glass. I think my dad knew it. I’m pretty sure Ron knew it. The radio bug had officially bitten.
Music has always been woven into my life. I’ve been playing a woodwind instrument since 4th grade — and growing up as the daughter of a church organist meant you had to stay ready. If someone didn’t show up for offertory or special music, it was, “Dad will bring you home. Take the hymnal. Pick a song. Grab the flute or clarinet. You’re up.” No pressure, right?
Most of my radio journey has been in Chicago, working in both Christian, Country and Top 40 formats — with stops in Houston and Orlando along the way. And now? I’m so grateful to call 88.3 The Journey home.
Off the air, I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for over 30 years. We have three grown sons (plus two incredible daughters-in-law!) living in the Chicago and Minneapolis areas. And of course, there’s our sweet, slightly wild, four-legged girl — Miss Porsche, the mini Bernedoodle — who we adopted from our very own Laura Chase!
I’m so thankful to spend Saturday afternoons with you from 3–7pm. Let’s turn up the music, lean into what God is doing, and enjoy the journey together.
