I’ve been thinking a lot about home recently and how this earth isn’t.
I just returned from a short trip to Missouri to bring a few pieces of furniture back to Texas from my mom’s. I walked into the house for the first time since I came back from the funeral. It was empty and silent, no longer home, just a house filled with dusty stuff. It’s not home anymore because my mom isn’t there.
Jesus told us His Father’s house has many dwelling places and He has gone to prepare a place for us. And if He has gone to prepare a place for us, He promises He will come again, that where He is, we may be also. Good news indeed, that the Son is preparing a place for us in our Father’s house. A place which most certainly will be home, not this place filled with dusty stuff.
Even so Lord Jesus, come quickly.
