Manager’s Memo 9-10-21

There’s just something about it when someone comes alongside you when you’re going thru something. Can’t quite put your finger on it, right? You don’t want their money. You don’t want their polite pity. It’s just about having … a friend. Someone who KNOWS you on your good days and bad days. Researchers out of University of California Davis found that couples can actually coordinate their heart rates. Even their unconscious breathing patterns can be in sync. But when you separate that same couple and put them in rooms with anyone else, their hearts would NOT synchronize with the stranger, no matter how much time they spent. So maybe that should be the new dating test 😊 – can you spend enough time together to have your heart rates and breathing synchronize, then you know it’s a match. No but seriously, this is exactly what our Savior, Jesus Christ, did when He left heaven and chose to synchronize … with us. To take on a human heart rate, and lungs that breath the same air we do. And because He died on the cross, synchronized with you and me, we get to synchronize our futures … with him, in heaven.

Coming alongside you today, just to be a friend.

For 88.3 The Journey, I’m general manager Danae Songy.
