Manager’s Memo 8-24-20
Today’s Troubles
I have to confess that after days of listening to myself say not to grow weary; I haven’t been very successful. It’s the first week of school and back to teaching, putting out administrative and technology fires, and going to committee meetings. There are three weeks left in what I pray is my next to last quarter of doctoral work, which still means hundreds of pages of writing between now and Christmas. I’m in the process of starting to build an auxiliary tower next to the new building for antennas and radio stuff. And we are a few weeks away from a very important Fall Sharathon, in the midst of our new reality. A good friend sent a meme last week that said, “Next week has been exhausting.” Oh, how that resonates. I spend a lot of energy thinking about tomorrow, next week, next month.
And then Jesus whispers in my ear. “Don’t be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Your heavenly Father knows what you need. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. He’ll take care of the rest.”
Jesus, I believe. You and the Father have this. Help my unbelief.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
