Manager’s Memo 8-10-20
Last week, I spent several days in faculty meetings getting ready for a new school year. We have six hundred plus students returning to campus, beginning next week with wide-eyed first-year students. Several of my colleagues asked how I was feeling. When I felt like it was an honest request for information, we talked about our concerns with bringing everyone back together, how we keep everyone safe since you live on top of each other for months at a time on a university campus. But each of those conversations ended with how tired we were, weeks before school starts. We are exhausted from the mental, emotional, and physical strain of the past five months.
Paul’s encouragement to the Galatians came to mind. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people.” Are you feeling tired and beat-up? Tired of the restrictions? Tired of being far from your normal? Tired of masks?
Don’t grow weary. God is using all things for the good of those who believe in Him. Don’t grow weary. He has promised He is building a place for us where He lives. What a harvest celebration that will be, worth all of our discomfort now. Don’t grow weary.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
