Manager’s Memo 7-18-22

Our biggest issue isn’t that we don’t want to help others. It’s that we help others – out of bounds right? Out of our cup instead of the cups overflow. We dump the energy and resources WE need because we think that’s the Christian thing to do and then we run out of yeses and shut down. It’s hard to balance time for self-care and time for others-care. It’s too easy to overdo it either direction to the point where you either swear off others or swear off yourself. Only Jesus can help you balance so that you aren’t pouring out your cup, but helping your cup overflow to others. Others don’t get what’s in your cup. You do. Others get the overflow. And there won’t be overflow if you haven’t let Jesus fill your cup to “overflowing” Psalm 23:5 “my cup runneth over. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life”. I know there’s a lot of need around you, and you can do something about it. But only if your cup … is full.
