Manager’s Memo 3-18-20
As head janitor, I have learned God sometimes has an answer all ready for me when I ask the question. Thank you for your feedback. There was a lot of it. And overwhelmingly, more than 95%, the response was be careful, but carry on. So here is what we are planning, barring a sudden and tumultuous change in our current situation.
We are going to hold on to our Sharathon schedule, but in a highly modified format. We’re calling it an internal Sharathon. My traveling friends will not be joining us in studio, so you are stuck with me. Fortunately, Danae, Jerry and both Chris’ will be here, though. The question of volunteers was answered as well. Our studios are located on the campus of Southwestern Adventist University. They have closed all campus buildings to visitors for the safety of the students and staff, so no one other than staff are allowed on campus for the rest of the school year. That means no volunteers.
So what you will hear on-air is the same music, voices, and programs you expect, filled with hope and encouragement. You will also hear us asking those who are able, to go to our website or use the app to make a gift. We’ll be able to answer a few phone calls, but no match challenges, no phone blitzes, etc. And that will pretty much be it. We just want to bless you and encourage you, even when we ask for some help.
Just like you, we have faith that God has a plan through all of this. A plan that will allow us to fulfill the calling He has placed on us to reflect His light into what can seem a pretty dark world sometimes. Our prayer is He will continue to bless and protect you, as you have surely blessed this ministry.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
