Manager’s Memo 3-13-23

Do you have any idea how much that God loves you? Like, without you doing anything? With an infant at home, we’ve discovered some beauty in the wee hours of the morning. Everything is quiet at 2 am. My husband Jerrod was reading to me from the book of Matthew and … here it is. Jesus is baptized and God said “This is my Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” Jerrod looked at me and asked, what had Jesus done up to that point? I was like, nothing. No disciplines, no miracles, no one believed in Him yet as the Messiah and … God was pleased with Him. The fact that Jesus hadn’t done anything when God said from heaven “You are my Beloved Child in whom I’m well pleased” tells me that WE don’t have to have a laundry list of things done, to be God’s beloved child. Those good things we do, come in response to being loved, not to get loved. Just being in relationship with His Father at that point is all Jesus had to do to be called … Beloved. Same for you. You are beloved right now, for just BEING YOU.
