Manager’s Memo 10-30-2015
Water was dripping from the top door into my master bedroom, a feature most bedrooms don’t have, with good reason. This past week, we found the small thing done in the dark that soaked a wall of my master bedroom, ruined a door, some carpet and sheetrock and left a two square foot hole in the ceiling of the hall leading to the bedroom. Apparently, when this room was remodeled, long before my wife and I bought it, a workman must have been in a hurry and rushed attaching a copper sleeve joining two pipes correctly and soldering it fully. And last week, what was done in secret and placed in the dark behind the ceiling, finally cracked and wreaked havoc.
My week of plumbers, water recovery, insurance agents and claims adjusters has me thinking about what is done in secret and the mess it leaves for others to clean-up. Which, before I got too judgmental, led me to think about what might be hiding in the dark places of my heart and the messes it leads to in other’s lives.
Paul reminded the Corinthians the Lord will judge and bring to light what is hidden in darkness and expose the motives of the heart. Please join me in asking the Lord to shine His light into the darkness of my heart. Seems it would be better to do that now than on Judgment Day.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
