Manager’s Memo 1-23-20
My father in law was a stripper. Every day for 38 years, he prepared plates that went on a printing press, or stripping, at the press company he worked for. Those plates were used to create a perfect copy of the original document when the press ran. Any marks, dust, or imperfections on the plate would be duplicated on every page that came from the press.
My wife, his youngest daughter, tells the story of his ritual at work. Every day when he arrived in his office, he would take off his glasses, spray them with cleaning fluid, and very meticulously clean the smudges and debris that living with small children would leave on his glasses. To guarantee the plates he would prepare that day were clear, he wanted to make sure his vision was clear.
We are weeks into 2020, a new year. My prayer has been for a clear vision of what God want’s to do with me this year. I want to keep the lens I look through every day as clear and debris-free as possible, allowing the Father to clear away the things that are between Him and me, the things that cloud my vision of Him. I want to see clearly, not darkly through the mirror.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
