Manager’s Memo 09-22-2017
The last couple of weeks has reminded me again, what our business is and what we should be about every moment of every day. Seeing the devastation of friends’ homes and businesses in Houston from Harvey and driving ourselves out from under Irma in Florida, reminds me the things the world values are fragile and fleeting. We should be focused on the eternal; focused on taking care of each other. We should be difference makers in our communities and in people around us.
James 1, verse 27 from the Message says anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. Matthew records a story Jesus told about the final judgement; you know, the one that talks about sheep and goats and the least of these, that doing it unto me story.
I believe God is concerned with how we treat each other. He is concerned about whether we are making a difference, whether we are showing His love. Are you living your life as a difference Maker? Will you join us?
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
