Manager’s Memo 07-31-2016
The answer to prayer I like the least is when He answers “Wait.” I love yes of course, and I’ve learned “no” is always in my best interest, even when it takes years for the reason to unfold. But “wait” has always been tough. Especially when it’s a project I’ve been working on for years.
Just after I wrote and recorded my last memo, I got a call from the tower company that’s supervising our little tower construction project. Rick lives in the area and is a listener and supporter, as well as a top flight tower builder. He was calling to tell me the dirt sample and inspection for our tower foundations wasn’t going to happen for a couple of weeks and the report would be a couple of weeks after that. Arrgghh!
In short, it’s adding a month to our build schedule, which is all well and good. Except four weeks later means we should finish the last week in September. Again, all well and good. Except for that little thing we do the last week of every September the past six years called Sharathon. Sharathon and finishing a tower build the same week? Really, God? And He smiles back at me, with a chuckle in His voice and says “Really, Mike? Are you insinuating I don’t have this under control?”
I don’t do wait very well. Dirt is about to fly, in a few more weeks.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee, sulking like a spoiled toddler in my office.
