Manager’s Memo 07-23-2019

One of my favorite lines from a movie comes from the classic Wizard of Oz. Dorothy and her friends are before the mighty wizard again, this time with the witch’s broom. Toto pulls the curtain back on a grizzled old man in front of a microphone. “Ignore the man behind the curtain.” I thought it was funny when I was a kid. Now I’m the grizzled old man behind the curtain, hoping you don’t notice me. I have come to realize much of the lives we project to others is merely smoke and mirrors. I have had the pleasure of managing several very successful radio teams through the years. And it has always been the people I work with. The Journey is just the latest one. And, as in the past, it is the people I work with, not the old man behind the curtain.

We’re going to pull the curtain back a little on the Journey Saturday afternoon and give you a chance to see behind the scenes. Saturday afternoon from three to seven, we are going to have an open house in our new office and studio space. We would love to have you come and take a peek behind the curtain.
