Manager’s Memo 07-16-2018
I’ve been thinking a lot about time recently. It might be the fact I have spent forty years in broadcasting where we worry about seconds, not just minutes and hours. It might be its because we’re five weeks from school beginning again in the fall and I have too much to do. Maybe it’s the paperwork I see for incoming freshman all have birthdates after 2000 now. But I suspect it is a subconscious realization the big six zero is looming on the horizon for me this coming Spring.
Whatever the reason, time has been on my mind, since I never seem to have enough of it anymore. Sometimes I wonder if I have ever had enough time. I know for sure that is the thing I will enjoy the most about heaven is no longer living under the tyranny of the ticking clock.
And as I frequently do when I’m thinking about something, God whispers in my ear. “Teach us to number our days, that we may have a heart of wisdom.” A prayer of Moses, recorded by David in Psalm number 90. The number of our days and wisdom. Hmmm.
Maybe I should focus less on how many days are left and spend more time on what is left to do. Let me encourage you to spend your day well today.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
