Manager’s Memo 07-03-2017
As I sat down to write this Manager’s Memo, I stopped to check my inbox and found an email from a listener and friend that had the subject line Prayer Requests and the body said sent from my iPhone. A few weeks ago, a good friend and former employee, died after a ten-month struggle with cancer, leaving a wife and two kids, age ten and eight. My newsfeed and phone apps are full of trouble, everywhere. Terrorists. State budgets and closings. Wars. Bombings. Stabbings. Flooding. Droughts. He said. She said. Don’t you just want to yell at the top of your voice some time “Stop!!!” and send them all to their rooms for a time out?
Sometimes this world seems like it is running off the rails. The book of Revelation tells me it will one day. But the book also tells me the ending. And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll and we will see Him in the air, coming to take you and me home. He will wipe away our tears and make all things new. That sounds like good news to me.
I replied Done to my friends’ email. I don’t know what they needed and don’t need to know, because we were both talking, at that moment, to the One who does. And He’s reminding me today, this is not my home. I love the Journey family because we can do this for each other. And so much more, when we do it together.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
