Manager’s Memo 06-13-2018
Ten weeks. One hundred and one scholarly articles read. Eleven online multimedia presentations endured. Twenty-one assignments, consisting of sixty-four pages total, twenty thousand, five hundred and nineteen words written. My spring doctoral class is in the books. Half way through my coursework. The “A” I received indicates I may have learned a few things about becoming a scholarly researcher. Hate to think I wasted that time, energy and expense for nothing.
What’s that mean? It means I’m ON VACATION, effective immediately. And what are we going to do? Get in the car and drive for two days, listening to a nonfiction audio book on Ancient Egypt and Cleopatra, to spend a week taking advantage of the hospitality of friends to soak up the history, culture and monuments of Washington, DC, with a little baseball and golf thrown in for fun. I can sense my children’s eye rolls from here on the lameness of our vacation plans. But Systems and Theories of Organizational Dynamics and Change awaits, beginning Monday, July 9, and my summer is over.
I pray God’s blessings on your summer plans. Try and relax a little. Spend some time with people you love. And when I see you next time, ask me questions about Ancient Egypt. I’ll probably act like I know what I’m talking about.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
