Manager’s Memo 04-25-2017
My life is a constant push and pull, an up and down rollercoaster, filled with tension and stress, elation and tranquility. Between financial statements that show us more than $10,000 in the red at the end of March, blown transformers shutting down the final morning of our Spring Sharathon leaving us short of the goal, legal wrangling over our Journey brand name, and now calls about what is probably a pirate radio station in Ft. Worth spewing profanity, unwholesome and non-family talk on 88.3 and listeners assuming it is us, sometimes I just want to run away and hide.
Then God sends a phone call last week that talks about a husband who initially resisted listening to the Journey with his wife in the car. He’s going to be baptized soon. Another from someone who listens to the Journey driving while they work in the area. He invited an employee and his girlfriend to church, where she gave her life to the Lord, having never heard of Jesus before. And then, a message from Emily on our Facebook page telling us the Word for the Walk on Monday spoke directly to her heart while sitting in her car at lunch time, looking for a new job because her current job was depressing her. She finished her message thanking us for the encouragement in her life. Okay, I’m listening Lord.
Thanks for your encouragement in our lives and for your involvement in the ministry of the Journey. All of the ups and downs fade in comparison to what is important, what God is doing in our lives. Don’t grow weary in doing good.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
