Manager’s Memo 03-02-2016
One of the scriptures at the root of my vision for The Journey is found in Ecclesiastes. Solomon is looking back over his life experience and offering advice to his son. In chapter 4, he is talking about labor and skill and the work of our hands.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
In other words, it’s better to have someone walking beside you. That’s what I pray the Journey has become to you, a group of people you can depend on to walk beside you, no matter what. Without that, we are easily overpowered.
In a few weeks you’ll hear us asking you to support The Journey. We call it Sharathon and it starts Tuesday, March 29th. Besides seeking the $125,000 goal for the next six months’ operation, we are looking to expand and grow The Journey with our new tower and antenna project. The tower is taken care of, leaving most of $50,000 to raise for our new antenna and the quarter of million new potential listeners it will add to our signal. Between now and then, will you pray about becoming a financial supporter of 88.3 The Journey? We can’t do this if you aren’t walking with us.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee.
