Manager’s Memo 01-02-2019
As Paul closes his first letter to the Corinthians, he reminds them of their unity in the Body of Christ; reminds them they each have different gifts, none more important than the other; reminds them those gifts are worthless without the wrapping of love; reminds them what love is and what love is not; reminds them even on their best days, they were childish, seeing the world dimly through the mirror, because they see in part, they know in part. Then Paul reminds them, and us, that only three things will abide; faith, hope, love.
By any measure, 2018 was an eventful year. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older, but it sure felt like the pace of news, politics, events, and happenings has never been faster. It feels like this world is spinning out of control sometimes. But scripture reminds me, He is on the throne. He is not surprised or outpaced by events on this blue marble spinning in a vast universe. And three things will abide forever. The faith we can have in Him. The hope we have in His loving kindness for us and His promise to take us home to live with Him forever. And finally, the greatest, His love for us as evidenced in His son Jesus, as well as our love for each other, so the world may know we are His disciples.
As we begin a new year, thank you for helping us share the things that matter the most and will abide forever on our journey together; faith, hope and love.
For 88.3 The Journey, I’m General Manager Mike Agee. Happy New Year.
