SUMMARY:3-Hour Wetland Canoe Trails
DESCRIPTION:Experience the amazing diversity in wetland vegetation and wildlife while learning about the history and basics of wetland ecology. After a safety and canoeing introduction\, spend about 40 minutes on a guided trail around the Heard wetlands\, followed by free paddle time to explore on your own.\nNo experience is necessary for any of the paddle programs. All participants will be given an introduction to canoeing that includes basic strokes\, boat safety\, and flat water maneuvers. Minimum age: 7 years. The event was established to bring men and young men of Cleburne and Johnson County together for a night of fellowship\, worship\, and an encouraging and challenging message. This year’s speaker is former NFL quarterback and current ministry leader and business owner Kevin Kolb. Kevin is going to deliver a challenging message to men. The event will occur at Bethel Temple in Cleburne. Food will be provided by Roscoe’s Smokehouse in Burleson. The event has a ticket charge of $25 for men\, but youth and kids are free. In keeping with the Heard’s role as a nature preserve\, this light display is designed to enhance\, rather than overpower\, the sanctuary’s natural beauty.
