the 1st Annual Cathy Marchel STinG RUN
Friday, March 6, 2020 at Smith Middle School Cleburne High School Student Council will be hosting a Fun Run and 5K Glow Run. The FunRun will be at 6:00 PM and the 5K Glow Run will begin at 6:30 PM. We are raising money for Chris Diaz, he is a sophomore at CHS; he was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma last spring. This is a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that manifests itself with a mass in the central part of the chest that creates problems with breathing. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments and has a long road ahead of him.
S.T.in.G. Week was established in 2017 by CHS Student Council. STinG stands for Students Together in Giving. The STinG RUN is a new event that we have added to the week long charity, that includes 6 Pep Rallies and 5 night events during the week of March 6-13. Over the past 3 years, CHS, along with the help of Smith & Wheat Middle Schools and CISD elementary schools have raised over $60,000 for students fighting life threatening diseases.
The Glow Run will also are also have Live Music from Jimmy Jones and some other local bands. Also featuring the del Norte food truck and Kona Ice. It I will be a great community outreach to raise money for medical expenses for Chris Diaz. Please come out and support our CISD Students as they work together for the Diaz Family.
