Star Party at Thomsen Observatory

The Thomsen Observatory will host it’s next free Star Party, Friday evening, September 16th. The sun will set at 7:30 PM and the moon will peek above the horizon at 11:00 PM, allowing a 3-hour dark period that will show Saturn, with it’s beautiful rings, climbing into view by 8:30 PM and then Jupiter surrounded by four of its moons later that evening.
A variety of excellent scopes will also display nebulas, star clusters and binary stars.
The observatory will open 30 minutes before sundown until 11:00 pm.
If you have questions, please call Jerry Becker, observatory manager, at 817-357-9097 or leave a message at the observatory at 817-202-6573
