Closings for Covid-19 Precautions
Here is a list of closures in our area because of Covid-19 precautions. Texas Governor Abbott has closed Texas schools until April 3, at least. The state has also waived the STAAR test this year. Dallas and Tarrant counties have issued a stay at home order.
- Alvarado ISD Free meals with curbside pickup. All athletic and extracurricular activities have been canceled until May 4.
- Arlington ISD Free meals with curbside pickup. Athletics, fine arts activities, clubs and organizations, and all other gatherings canceled.
- Birdville ISD Free meals with curbside pickup. All extracurricular activities during this period are canceled.
- Burleson ISD schools will remain closed until Sunday, April 5. All extracurricular activities are also canceled during this time. This includes the use of facilities such as open gyms, weight rooms, tryouts, practices, and in-person team meetings. Free meals with curbside pickup.
- Catholic Diocese of Dallas has canceled all public mass until March 30.
- Cedar Hill ISD is closed indefinitely due to the Dallas County shelter in place order. Free meals available.
- Cleburne ISD All school-related activities are canceled until school resumes. Free meals available.
- City of Cleburne has closed city facilities until March 29. They are the Booker T Washington Community Center, Layland Museum, Cleburne Railroad Museum, Sports Complex, Senior Citizens Center, Golf Links Grille and Cleburne Public Library. City parks and Golf Links will remain open. Gatherings of more than 10 are prohibited.
- Dallas ISD canceled all district events and activities until further notice, including UIL events, athletics, field trips after-school programs and other campus activities. Click here for updates from the district.
- Fort Worth ISD. The district is partnering with Tarrant Area Food Bank to provide to-go lunches at eight schools during the extended Spring Break. The schools are Springdale, Manual Jara, Western Hills, Hubbard Heights, Dunbar High, Eastern Hills High, Clifford Davis, and De Zavala. Click the link for times and addresses.
- Fort Worth Museum of Science and Industry is closed, with special events and programs suspended or canceled until April 15.
- Godley ISD Athletics, fine arts activities, clubs and organizations, and all other gatherings will be postponed during this closure until further notice. Essential personnel will remain on duty with a plan to work remotely as much as possible.
- Grandview ISD All campus events, field trips, student trips, and UIL practices and competitions are canceled throughout the closure.
- Grapevine-Colleyville ISD All UIL events, extracurricular activities, and school events are canceled during this period.
- Hill College All course work online through Sunday, April 5, all campuses.
- Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD All UIL events, extracurricular activities, and school events are canceled during this period. Providing food, school supplies, and technology support.
- Joshua ISD schools closed until April 14. Providing food, school supplies, and technology support.
- Keene ISD Virtual instruction begins March 30. Providing food support daily.
- Kimbell Art Museum is closed and all public programs canceled until April 15. Refunds will be issued for ticketed events.
- Main Street Ft. Worth Arts Fesitval tentatively rescheduled from Aril 16-19 to Sept. 3-6- in Downtown Ft. Worth.
- Mansfield ISD All activities and field trips will be canceled. Distance learning began on March 23.
- Venus ISD Virtual instruction begins March 30. Providing food support for students.
- Six Flags Over Texas closed until the end of March.
- Southwestern Adventist University has closed facilities on campus. Online instruction begins Monday, March 30.
- Tarleton State All instruction online through the end of the Spring semester.
- TCU All instruction online through the end of the Spring semester.
- UTA All instruction online through the end of the Spring semester.
- Venus ISD Virtual instruction for all students begins Monday, March 30.
- Weatherford College has closed all WC campuses for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. Online instruction will begin for all courses on March 30th and will continue for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester.
- Weatherford ISD Students and staff will return to campuses on Monday, April 6. School-at-home week of March, 30. Providing food support for students.
